The late comedian Kapere Lufotose may have had a family secret that even some of his closest colleagues knew nothing about.

Veteran comedian Amooti Omubalanguzi has revealed that a woman approached him after Kapere’s death, seeking recognition for a child she claims to have had with the entertainer.

The matter reportedly came to light during Kapere’s burial, when details emerged suggesting that the comedian could have fathered a fourth child outside his marriage.

Kapere had three known children with his wife, Lydia Nakandi, popularly known as Mama Trump.

In a television interview, Amooti, born Allan Mujuni, disclosed that he received a personal call from the woman following the comedian’s passing.

Interestingly, she is said to be interested in having her child acknowledged but would rather stay away from public attention.

Amooti says he has offered to help bring the parties together, although he believes the matter needs to be handled carefully before any conclusions are reached.

One of the possible steps is a DNA test to establish whether Kapere was indeed the child’s biological father. If paternity is confirmed, the child could eventually be introduced to Kapere’s other children.

Amooti also admitted that the revelation came as a surprise to him. Despite his association with Kapere, he says the comedian had never mentioned the woman or the alleged relationship to him.

The comedian’s death has therefore brought renewed attention to questions about his family, with the latest claims still awaiting confirmation.

Whether the woman and her child will eventually be formally recognised remains to be seen.
