Uganda’s famous events promoter Abbey Musinguzi, popularly known as Abtex, has voiced his disappointment towards the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development.
However, this ministry has failed to recognize the efforts and contributions of event promoters in Uganda by neglecting them.
Abtex, while addressing the Uncovered Ug media team, said, “We came to the Ministry of Gender, but they don’t know us. We only demand our share.”
Abtex expressed frustration over the continued neglect of the events and entertainment industry by government agencies, despite the sector’s large impact on employment and youth engagement.
Furthermore, Abtex emphasized that event promoters play a vital role in organizing shows, creating jobs, and supporting local artists, yet their efforts are often ignored when it comes to government support and recognition.
Abtex, events Promoter
He called on the ministry to include event promoters in national planning and support programs, saying it was time the government appreciated the work they do in building the country’s entertainment industry.

In conclusion, here at our platform, we encourage the ministry of gender to work together with Abtex to end wrangles for a better Uganda.
