Garrett takes the top spot

The 30-year-old defensive star moved up seven places from his previous ranking to become the highest-rated player in the league.

His rise comes after a remarkable 2025 season with the Cleveland Browns, during which he recorded 23 sacks in 17 games, setting a new NFL single-season sack record.

Garrett also won his second Defensive Player of the Year award and earned another Pro Bowl selection.

His performances have now earned him the biggest recognition of his career in the player-voted rankings.

Josh Allen finishes second

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was ranked No. 2, making him the highest-ranked quarterback on the list.

Allen recorded 3,683 passing yards, 25 passing touchdowns and 579 rushing yards during the 2025 season. He also scored 14 rushing touchdowns as the Bills reached the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

Allen had been ranked third in the previous edition of the NFL Top 100.

Garrett begins new chapter with Rams

Garrett will enter the 2026 season with the Los Angeles Rams after making a major offseason move from Cleveland.

The move gives the defensive star a fresh opportunity to compete for a Super Bowl and places him alongside former NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald.

Garrett is also only the second pass rusher to reach No. 1 in the history of the NFL Top 100 rankings, following J.J. Watt, who topped the list in 2015.

With the regular season approaching, all eyes will now be on whether Garrett can produce another dominant campaign and justify his position at the top of the NFL.
