The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Mitooma has heard a disturbing child abuse case in which a 45-year-old woman is accused of forcing her 8-year-old stepson to swallow 46 needles over a two-week period.
The suspect, Juliet Tushabeomwe, was arraigned on charges of aggravated child abuse following investigations into the alleged torture of the minor.
According to prosecution allegations, the child suffered severe pain and dangerous health complications before he was eventually taken for medical examination, where the needles were reportedly discovered.
The shocking allegations have triggered anger and concern among residents and child rights campaigners, many describing the incident as one of the most horrifying child abuse cases reported in recent months.
