Kampala police have arrested three suspects in connection with a violent theft and assault that occurred near Gwanda Shopping Mall, close to the Kisenyi Taxi Park. The incident, captured on a viral CCTV video, shows a group of men attacking a man carrying a backpack and stealing his belongings.
Attack Caught on Video
According to the footage circulating online, five men are seen violently confronting the victim. One of the attackers brandishes a panga and threatens an onlooker before fleeing with the stolen bag.

ACP Kituuma Rusoke, police spokesperson, confirmed that three suspects have been arrested to assist with the ongoing investigation. Authorities also impounded three motorcycles allegedly used during the robbery.
Two additional suspects remain at large, and police say the hunt for them is ongoing.
ACP Rusoke told Uncovered Ug news reporters that “We are committed to ensuring justice and public safety. Investigations continue, and more details will be shared as they emerge.”
Finally, the incident has sparked concern among residents, highlighting rising criminal activity around key transport hubs in Kampala. Police urge members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to help curb crime.
