In Sudan, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has announced its takeover of the western city of el-Fasher. This development marks a significant turning point in the ongoing civil war.
In a statement shared via social media, the RSF claimed to have seized el-Fasher “from the grip of mercenaries and militias allied with the terrorist army.”
Furthermore, the loss of El Fasher represents a major setback for the Sudanese army, as it was their last stronghold in the Darfur region. With this change, the RSF has effectively established control over the area. As of now, the army has not released any comments regarding this event.

Recently, the RSF also declared that it captured the army’s 6th Division Headquarters. They claimed to have destroyed “huge military vehicles” and acquired military equipment during this operation.
Uncovered Ug Verify has confirmed the authenticity of videos circulating on social media, showing RSF fighters inside the captured army base.
In response, local pro-army fighters known as the Popular Resistance have accused the Rapid Support Forces of conducting a “media disinformation campaign.” They claim this is an attempt to undermine the morale of the armed forces.
The RSF has surrounded el-Fasher for the past 18 months, subjecting army positions and civilians to continuous bombardment. Approximately 300,000 people have found themselves trapped amidst the violence.
Recent satellite imagery has revealed extensive earthen walls being constructed around the city, seemingly designed to trap residents inside.
