Nigeria—On Saturday, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled Nyesom Wike, Ayodele Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu and several others over alleged anti-party activities, deepening tensions within Nigeria’s opposition politics.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken decisive action by expelling key figures including Nyesom Wike, Ayodele Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu and several others over alleged anti-party activities. The decision marks one of the strongest disciplinary measures by the party in recent years and signals growing intolerance for internal division ahead of future political contests.
This move has intensified tensions within Nigeria’s opposition landscape, raising questions about party unity, leadership direction and the future roles of the affected politicians. Analysts say the expulsions could reshape power dynamics within the PDP as it attempts to rebuild trust and strengthen its position on the national stage

Furthermore, the reason for their expulsion, which was unanimously supported by the members of the party at the ongoing PDP National Convention in Ibadan, was moved by one of the founding fathers of the party, Chief Bode George.
Later, it was seconded by Bala Mohamed, who is the Bauchi State governor.

Others expelled are the party’s National Legal Adviser, Adeyemi Ajibade (SAN), Umar Bature, AbdulRahman Mohammed, Mao Chuambuwa, George Turner, Austin Nwachukwu, Abraham Ammah, and Dan Orbih.
We tried to reach out to the suspended ministers, but we couldn’t because of serious security attached to them.
