Paul Pogba Suspended For Anti Doping Offence

France and Juventus midfielder Paul Labile Pogba have been suspended after testing positive for anti-doping drugs.
The National Anti-Doping Tribunal (NADO) of Italy confirms that Pogba tested positive in a return test with high levels of testosterone after Juventus win over Udinese on August 20th.
The 30-year-old midfielder was absent in the game against Udinese but was randomly selected for the post-match drug testing. If eventually found guilty, he could be suspended for about two to four years from playing football.
Juventus statement on the doping issues:
“Juventus Football announces that today, September 11, 2023,
The footballer Paul Labile Pogba received a precautionary suspension order from the national anti-doping tribunal.
following the results of tests carried out on August 20, 2023.
The club reserves the right to consider the next procedural steps”.
However, Italy’s national anti-doping agency revealed that the midfielder had gone against the rules and regulations of the organization when they found a prohibited substance called non-endogenous testosterone metabolites,” and the results revealed the consistency of the target compound with exogenous testosterone.
Testosterone is a hormone that bolsters energy and increases the endurance of athletes.
Remember, the player was re-signed by the club on a four-year deal from Manchester United in July 2022, after the expiration of his contract at Old Trafford, leaving him as a free agent.
Last season, he barely played for 108 minutes in six serie A games, three short appearances, one assist in the Europa League, and 11 minutes of play in the Coppa Italia, making a total of 162 minutes and registering zero goals.
In conclusion, Pogba’s injury issues have resurfaced lately, with Juventus manager Massimo Allegri confirming that the player sustained a minor back problem following appearances for Juventus against Empoli.
