The breakup between media personality Canary Mugume and Sasha Ferguson continues to dominate public conversation as new allegations emerge regarding what may have led to the end of their marriage.
Sasha Ferguson recently confirmed through a series of emotional Snapchat posts that the couple officially separated in 2024, ending a union that began in 2021 after nearly a decade of dating.
In her posts, Sasha alleged that the breakup stemmed from repeated domestic violence, claiming she endured physical abuse during pregnancy.

The latest reports circulating online now suggest that alcohol abuse may have been a major trigger for the domestic tensions. According to Sasha, excessive drinking allegedly turned into chaos whenever Canary came home.
“The main cause of gender-based violence is a result of alcohol abuse, and as long as one is still in denial, they can never get the help they need. Most families have ended because of this. It’s one thing to enjoy your alcohol in peace, go home, and sleep; it’s another to go home and cause chaos,” Sasha wrote on Snapchat.
However, Canary Mugume has publicly denied the domestic violence allegations.
In an earlier post, he dismissed the accusations and revealed that he is currently battling for access to his children, stating he has seen them only once this year despite a court order granting full access.
Canary and Sasha tied the knot in a glamorous ceremony in 2021, a moment many celebrated after their long relationship journey.
Their separation has since sparked widespread discussion about marriage, mental health, and gender-based violence in Uganda.
At the moment, neither party has issued further clarification beyond their individual statements.
