IGANGA: LC3 Chairman in Namutumba District Sent to Prison
News reaching our platform pannal say Mande Idhube Baziriyo, the chairman of LCIII Nangode Town Council in Namutumba District, has appeared before Grade 1 Magistrate Mr. Busulwa Ivan in Iganga Court on charges of theft of PDM money and has been remanded till July 15, 2024.
However, it is alleged that the suspect devoted himself to helping an old woman, WONAIRA MIRISAH, open up a bank account and also helped her access PDM money.
In December 2023, when PDM money was ready, the suspect took the victim to the bank in Iganga and asked her to give him the phone and PIN to help her withdraw the money using her mobile wallet.

Furthermore, the suspect told the victim that money was not ready, and he returned her phone before parting ways. Additionally, it was the daughter of the victim who discovered that money had been withdrawn when she saw the messages on the phone.

In conclusion, the suspect went into hiding and switched off his phone until June 30, 2014, when he was arrested with the help of Namutumba Police.
