As the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi’s campaign continues to be marred by teargas, random arrests, and heavy security deployment, Bobi Wine on Thursday physically engaged with police officers to save NUP supporter.
In a video that has since gone viral on social media, Bobi Wine is seen jumping out of his official vehicle and engaging with several police officers as they attempted to arrest an NUP supporter who was moving ahead of his car on a boda boda.
According to the videographer, Bobi Wine was allegedly forced to intervene after the police officers pulled the rider off his motorcycle and allegedly squeezed the man’s genitals as they strangled him during the arrest.

The rider was later on released by the police after the altercation, and the procession continued to his first rally in Kamuli-Kangulumira, in Ntenjeru South.
However, he was unable to complete his second rally at Baale county grounds after security personnel fired teargas and live bullets at the campaign grounds, which led him to order his supporters to abandon the rally and go home, bringing the day’s campaigns to an end.
Earlier on in the day, during a press conference at his Magere home before setting off for Kayunga, Bobi Wine condemned the continued police brutality on his supporters ever since the start of the campaigns in the Buganda region.
Bobi Wine is slated to head to Jinja tomorrow for another leg of campaigns in the eastern part of the country.
