BUDAKA: Man Arrested For Defiling 2-Year-Old Daughter
The police in Budaka District, eastern Uganda, have launched investigations into a case of aggravated defilement. This is involving a 30-year-old man and a 1-year-old and an 8-month-old female juvenile. Meta Robert, 30, a resident of Idudi ‘A’ in Nansanga sub-county, Budaka District, was arrested on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
However, this was after the victim’s mother, only identified as Ms. Kaitake, reported a case of aggravated defilement of her daughter to the LCI Chairperson of the village.
Preliminary information indicates that on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at around 8:00 p.m., Ms. Kataike was cooking food with her child while the husband (the suspect) was in the house resting. However, when the child started crying, the suspect requested that the mother take her (the child) to the bedroom while the wife kept cooking food.

Furthermore, Kataike narrates that she had the child crying loudly. Then the man came, telling her that she had defecated on the bed. When Kataike went to clean the baby, she saw some blood drops on the bed sheets as well as in the baby’s private parts.
Kataike did not accept, which forced her to call neighbors and also inform the LC I Chairperson. The LC then took Meta Robert (the suspect) to the police for action. They recorded statements from the wife and witnesses around.
In conclusion, sources have since established that Kataike and the suspect had been married for just four months. The former came to stay with him with the baby when she was a year and a few months old.
