“I wish to update you that Hon. George William Nyombi Thembo has been appointed as the substantive Executive Director of UCC. Join me in congratulating him on his appointment,” she posted.
Her position, however, was abruptly advised in September this year, and the ICT Ministry gave no reasons as to why. At the time, she said she was “undecided” on whether to apply for the job.
Her replacement, Hon. Nyombi Thembo, has long experience in government, having served three times in cabinet: first as State Minister for Education and Sports (Primary Education), then as Minister for Luwero Triangle, and later as State Minister for ICT from 2011 to 2016.
In conclusion, Mrs. Kaggwa has been serving in an acting capacity at the Commission and has been credited for the work she has done in promoting e-services, arbitrating corporate disputes, and enhancing ICT security. Additionally, he also served as Kassanda South MP from 2006 to 2011.
