Singer Priscilla Zawedde, popularly known as Azawi, has sparked intense debate after boldly declaring that Uganda’s music industry is heavily influenced by witchcraft and dark practices.

Speaking in an interview with a local television station, Azawi claimed that the industry has been overtaken by the “dark world,” insisting that many artists use supernatural powers to survive and stay relevant.

“Musicians are witches—they use witchcraft. It’s the only way to survive,” Azawi stated during a discussion with a local YouTuber.

Azawi further delivered a scathing attack on artists who came before her, describing them as dangerous individuals who do not wish success for others.

“The musicians who were here before us are very dangerous. They don’t wish well for others. They are thieves—they are devils,” she added.

According to the “Majje” hitmaker, most veteran musicians thrive by betraying each other and sabotaging rising talent, calling them conmen who built careers by stepping on others.

Azawi’s comments appear to reinforce earlier claims from singers Bebe Cool and Spice Diana, who also previously alleged that witchcraft is widespread in the entertainment industry.

Her statements have ignited massive reactions online, leaving fans and industry stakeholders divided on whether she is exposing hidden truth or simply stirring controversy.
