Two Arrested in Connection with Kakumiro Murder, Police Investigate Broader Criminal Links

Kakumiro District-Police in the Albertine region have arrested Jordan Kibuka (25) and Semata, alias Kidewalime (23), over the murder of Namulindwa Victoria, a mother of three from Rwensera B Cell.

Preliminary reports indicate that on February 27, 2026, the suspects attacked Namulindwa at her home using heavy sticks. During the assault, her three children and a domestic worker were seriously injured, sustaining multiple wounds.

All victims were taken to Mubende Regional Referral Hospital. Tragically, Namulindwa later died from her injuries.

Investigations suggest that the suspects had been planning attacks on homes in the district, primarily motivated by robbery. Police believe the assault on Namulindwa was deliberate and part of a series of criminal activities.

Security officers have confirmed that the suspects are in custody and are being interrogated to uncover whether they were involved in other violent incidents in Kakumiro District. Police have also warned that they will deploy additional patrols in the area to prevent further attacks.

“The safety of our communities is paramount. We urge residents to stay alert and report suspicious persons immediately,” the police said.

Residents have expressed shock over the incident, describing it as a brazen act of violence. Local leaders have called on police to act swiftly to restore a sense of security in the area.
