Dan Tumusiime arrested for stealing Kinyara Sugar Works tractor
A 26-year-old man, Dan Tumusiime, has been arrested for allegedly stealing a tractor belonging to Kinyara Sugar Works.
However, Tumusiime, a resident of Hoima City, was arrested on Sunday. It is alleged that the suspect, together with others still at large, coordinated and stole a tractor of the 9200 Mahindra type belonging to Kinyara two weeks ago.
The tractor was stolen from Kinyara in Masindi district. Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region police spokesperson, says that after the matter was reported to the police, they swung into action and dispatched a team of flying squad operatives to track the suspects.

Furthermore, he says that on Sunday, they recovered the tractor from the Buliima trading center in Bwijanga sub-county in Masindi district and managed to arrest one suspect. Hakiza says the arrested suspect and others still at large were planning to transport the stolen tractor to Arua district, where they would sell it.
Aldon Wulukamba, the communications manager at Kinyara, explains that, in the past three years, they have lost over ten tractors, pointing fingers at some drivers who connive with thugs to still them.
Additionally, he says that some of the thugs, after failing to sell off the stolen tractors, abandon them either by the roadside or in the bush.
In conclusion, the suspect was immediately whisked to Masindi central police station, where he is currently being detained as the hunt for his accomplices continues.
