It’s now official that Luton Town FC have appointed Jack Wilshere as their new manager for this season. The English club, who were in the Premier League just two years ago but now find themselves in League One, have appointed the 33-year-old former midfielder as head coach until the end of the season.
Jack Wilshere returns to familiar surroundings where he began his youth career at Luton before moving to the Gunners’ academy.
The former England international retired early due to persistent injuries after spells with Arsenal, Bournemouth, West Ham United, and the Danish side Aarhus, where he ended his playing career.

Since then, he has worked within Arsenal’s academy and more recently as assistant manager at Norwich City.
Luton Town, based just north of London, currently sits 11th in League One. The Hatters were promoted to the Premier League in 2023 but have since endured back-to-back relegations and are now seeking stability in the third tier.
“It’s a great honor and a privilege to become manager of Luton Town,” Wilshere said on his unveiling. “The first time I came here, I was just eight years old—for this to now be my first job as a manager feels like destiny, like things have come full circle. The club’s history inspires me—it’s built on faith, unity, and hard work.”
“The team has shown incredible character both on and off the pitch in recent years,” added Wilshere, who earned 34 caps for England. “It’s an honor to take on this responsibility and lead this group into the future.
In conclusion, here at Uncovered Ug, we wish him a great season so that he brings backthe Premier League.
