Signed last season from Cornella by Barca Atletic, with whom he was an undisputed starter under Rafa Marquez, Martin (Barcelona, 2002) earned the trust of first-team coach Hansi Flick this season.

The 22-year-old Catalan full-back was part of Flick’s squad for the summer tour of the United States, an opportunity he took advantage of and which led him to make his official debut with the first team on the first day of La Liga against Valencia. Martin came on in the 63rd minute in place of Alejandro Balde.

In conclusion, Gerrard Martin has played 17 official games for Barcelona this season, eight of which he has started, becoming a guaranteed replacement for left-back Alejandro Balde.
