The National Unity Platform (NUP) Election Management Committee has released the official list of parliamentary flagbearers for the 2026 general elections.
According to the official NUP platforms, those are the names that are going to represent the party on the parliamentary seat as the flag bearers.
Among the big names missing are Medard Ssegona (Busiro East), Allan Ssewanyana (Makindye West), Joyce Bagala (Mityana Woman), Francis Katongole Katabazi (Kalungu East), Paul Nsubuga (Busiro North), Fred Ssimbwa (Nakifuma), Aloysius Mukasa (Rubaga South), and Derrick Nyeko (Makindye East).

Joyce Bagala has been replaced by Prossy Mukisa as the party’s flagbearer for the Mityana Woman MP seat.
In Makindye West, Allan Ssewanyana lost his slot to KCCA Speaker Zahara Luyirika, while Shamim Malende retained her position as Kampala Woman MP candidate.
In Busiro East, Medard Ssegona was replaced by Sir Mathias Walukagga. Additionally, Rubaga South MP Aloysius Mukasa lost his place to Nassolo Eugenia.

Furthermore, we encourage the selected flag bearers to work hard for the people, not for themselves, to boost the party growth.
In conclusion, we also encourage those who have lost to support the winners by campaigning for them to generate more votes for the party to ensure that the party more candidates in parliament.
