President Donald Trump recently hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House for a critical discussion aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
However, this meeting followed Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska and came about six months after a notable Oval Office gathering that included Zelenskyy, Trump, and Vice President JD Vance.
The stakes were high as the leaders discussed potential strategies to bring peace to the region. This meeting was significant, especially with a gathering of several European leaders who joined the talks.

After the discussions, Zelenskyy was asked by reporters if a date had been set for a trilateral meeting involving the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia. He responded, “No, no, no.
Furthermore, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who attended the White House talks, indicated that a meeting between Putin and Zelenskyy might occur in the next two weeks.
We don’t have any date.” He emphasized that while the U.S. supports a meeting at the leader level, consensus from all parties is essential for it to happen soon.
In conclusion, he noted that the location of this potential summit had yet to be determined and expressed uncertainty about Putin’s willingness to attend.
