Marcus Rashford has been registered in time to feature for Barcelona in their La Liga opener against Mallorca on Saturday.
However, in the 2024-25 season, they spent more on buying players and on wages than they made in revenue.
Yesterday, Marcus Rashford had still not been registered, with manager Hansi Flick expressing frustration in his pre-game news conference.

Because of Spanish financial fair play regulations, the Spanish champions have had difficulty registering players in recent seasons.
Flick told Uncovered Ug news reporters that “For me, the situation—you can imagine I’m not happy about that. But I know the situation, and I believe in the club,”

“We will focus on what we can change and what is in our hands. The other things, I believe in the club.” he added.
On Saturday, player profiles of Rashford and new goalkeeper Joan Garcia were listed on La Liga’s website for the first time.
Gerard Martin and keeper Wojciech Szczesny were absent, suggesting Barcelona may be staggering registrations if unable to complete them all at once.
This season, they have managed to partially help their registration headache by getting German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen to agree to a long-term medical leave agreement, freeing up 80% of his wage value to register a replacement.
In conclusion, Barcelona will begin with momentum to defend their La Liga title at Mallorca on Saturday evening (18:30 BST), which is 8:30pm (East African Time).
