In a statement released through his verified platforms, Kartel—born Adidja Palmer—said neither he nor his management team has any knowledge of or involvement in any planned tour in East Africa.

“It has come to my attention that a post is circulating claiming that I will be embarking on an East African tour in May 2026. Let me be absolutely clear: neither my management nor I have any knowledge of, or involvement in, any such tour,” the statement reads.

The artist emphasized that no shows in East Africa have been announced or confirmed by his team, describing the circulating advertisements as misleading and potentially fraudulent.

Kartel further warned that individuals, promoters, or online platforms claiming to book or promote the alleged tour are acting without authorization.

“Fans, promoters, and venues are strongly advised not to engage with or send money to anyone making such claims, as these may be scams,” he cautioned.

The dancehall icon clarified that all official announcements regarding his performances and tours will only be communicated through his verified social media accounts or through his authorized representatives.

He identified his manager, Linton T.J. White, and his attorney, Jason Mitchell, as the only individuals authorized to speak or act on his behalf.

“For the avoidance of doubt, all official announcements regarding Vybz Kartel appearances and tours will come directly from my verified platforms or from my authorized representatives only,” the statement added.

Kartel also warned that anyone falsely using his name to promote unauthorized events will face appropriate action.

The clarification comes amid growing excitement among East African fans after online posters and social media posts claimed the dancehall superstar would perform in several countries across the region later this year.

However, with the latest statement, Kartel has firmly distanced himself from the alleged tour, urging the public to remain vigilant against potential scams.
