Newcastle rejected Liverpool’s £100m bid for Bruno Guimaraes
Liverpool’s $100 million bid for Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes was rejected on the deadline day of the summer transfer window.
Liverpool are bidding farewell to Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Fabio, and James Milner this summer transfer window.
They went right into the market to get quality midfielders for their replacements.
Liverpool sealed the incredible signings of Dominik Szboszlai and Mac Allister, but Jurgen Klopp insisted on one more top-quality signing who will efficiently replace Fabio at the center of midfield.
Going all out for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Latvia, but were turned down by both players as they have a preference to play for Chelsea FC over Liverpool.
However, they quickly sealed Ryan Gravenberch’s deal from Bayern Munich for €40 million, who became the fourth midfielder in addition to Wataru Endo, Mac Allister, and Dominik.
According to Spanish outlet AS, Liverpool offered a whopping sum of £100m for Guimaraes with a few days to the deadline of the transfer window, but the Magpies remained grounded in their decision to reject the offer as they see the Brazilian international as an important player in the squad.
Newcastle are back in the Champions League after more than 20 years of drought, and Eddie Howe will not allow an important player such as Guimaraes to exit the club at such a crucial time for the club.
In conclusion, his current contract will run out in 2026. Guimaraes sees himself as a fan favorite at Newcastle, and he told The Players Tribune ahead of the Carabao Cup final that he wants to become a legend at the club.
