A 35-year-old loader will spend New Year’s Day on remand at Luzira prison for allegedly stealing one carton of forks valued at 100,000 shillings.
However, a tearful Yusuf Byaruhanga was arraigned before Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayizzi, who read to him a theft offense that he denied.
The trial Magistrate sent him on remand until January 9, 2024, when he will reappear for the commencement of the case.

Furthermore, the prosecution, led by Allan Mucunguzi, states that on August 26th, 2023, at William Street,Byaruhanga  stole one carton of forks valued at 100,000 shillings, the property of Geoffrey Ssendagire.
Still in court A 27-year old man was remanded to prison for stealing over 6.4 million shillings, money collected for a cash circle.
Rogers Ssemanda, a street vendor at Kasiwukira Plaza, was caught red-handed breaking into a savings box to steal members savings collected since March 2023.
The money belonged to 23 members who work around Kasiwukira Plaza in Kampala Central.
In conclusion, Ssemanda has, however, denied theft charges before Buganda Road Court Chief Magistrate Ronald Kayiizi, who remanded him to jail up to January 9, 2024.
