Busoga North Regional Police spokesperson SSP Samson Lubega confirmed the accident and cautioned motorists against dangerous road maneuvers, especially when driving heavy vehicles.

“Drivers must avoid sudden swerving, particularly on narrow roads, as it can easily lead to loss of control and fatal consequences,” Lubega said. “Instead, they should reduce speed gradually and brake safely when faced with oncoming traffic.”

The bodies of the victims were taken to the mortuary as investigations into the crash continue. Police have once again called on drivers, especially those operating heavy trucks, to prioritize road safety to avoid further loss of life on Uganda’s roads.
