News reaching our platform confirms that Prince Karim Al-Hussaini, Aga Khan IV, the 49th hereditary Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims and a direct descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), has passed away peacefully in Lisbon on 4 February 2025, at the age of 88. He was surrounded by his family in his final moments.

Prince Karim Aga Khan, a visionary leader and philanthropist, was the founder and chairman of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).

Through his tireless efforts, he transformed lives globally, championing education, healthcare, and social development for people of all backgrounds. However, the announcement of his designated successor will follow in due course.
