Kampala’s Lord mayor Erias Lukwago has denied meeting Gen Salem Saleh. Ever since January began, Gen saleh came out and said I have been supporting Lukwago in all his campaigns ever since he joined politics in 2001.
The news circulated on all social media platforms how saleh was ashaming lukwago and he told him to out and ask for forgiveness otherwise he won’t support him in the coming elections in 2026.
Today morning at NBS tv, our reporters were already at the stations to interview the lord mayor to find out the truth about what the general said.
We got a chance and interacted with Lukwago and he said ” I have never met Saleh in my life and never even shaken hands with him. when people are dirty, they always want to make sure you also look dirty and that is the irony. What amuses me is they think that to bring down Lukwago. let’s create a picture of him being close to us”.
He was responding to letters purportedly from Gen. Saleh asking him to apologize or he withdraws the support he’s being giving him in his fight.
Lets wait and see who is true about this issue so Gen saleh will come out to give us more updates whether he will support him again in the 2026 elections.
