National Unity Platform leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, commonly known as Bobi Wine, has shared the sad news of the passing of his grandfather-in-law, Mzee Ernest Nvunganyi.
The somber announcement came on Monday evening, shortly after Mzee Nvunganyi’s death on August 19, 2024. Bobi Wine’s heartfelt statement conveyed his deep sadness over the loss, describing Mzee Nvunganyi as a person of immense kindness.
He said, “It is with profound sorrow that I announce the passing of my grandfather-in-law, Mzee Ernest Nvunganyi of Rukanda, Rwentobo-Ntungamo District. May his gentle soul find eternal peace.”

Mzee Nvunganyi was a respected resident of Rukanda, Rwentobo-Ntungamo District, and the grandfather of Barbara Itungo Kyagulanyi, Bobi Wine’s wife.
His passing has left a void in the family, which is now grieving this significant loss. As the family mourns, they have requested privacy to process their grief. Details about the funeral arrangements are expected to be made public soon.
