Arsenal’s Premier League title charge suffered a setback after a 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth, handing renewed momentum to rivals Manchester City in the race for the crown.
Bournemouth Shock Arsenal at Emirates
The visitors struck first at the Emirates Stadium through youngster Junior Kroupi, who capitalized on a deflected cross to score from close range. Arsenal responded before the break, with Viktor Gyokeres calmly converting from the penalty spot after a handball by Ryan Christie.
Despite making early attacking substitutions in the second half, Mikel Arteta’s side struggled to break down a confident Bournemouth team that played with greater fluency and purpose.

The decisive moment came in the 74th minute when Alex Scott finished off a well-worked move, firing past goalkeeper David Raya to restore Bournemouth’s lead. Arsenal pushed forward in search of an equalizer but failed to create clear chances, suffering only their second home league defeat this season.

With six matches remaining, Arsenal remain top of the table, but their lead is now under serious threat. Manchester City could cut the gap significantly if they secure victories in their upcoming fixtures, including a crucial clash against the Gunners.
Having recently enjoyed success in Europe, Arsenal looked off pace against an energetic Bournemouth side. The result raises fresh questions about their consistency as the title race enters a decisive phase.
