In Amuria district, police have arrested four family members in connection with the death of the family head, Justine Ilukor, aged 58. He was found dead after allegedly hanging himself under a tree near his home on Thursday night.
However, his wife, Margaret Kongai, 50, and three of their sons, including John Ocoma, 18, are being held by the police to assist in investigations. The other two family members are male juveniles aged 15 and 13 years.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that on Wednesday evening, Ilukor returned home from his usual drinking spot but had a quarrel with his wife, Margaret Kongai. The quarrel escalated into a physical altercation.

This incident occurred at an unknown time in Ocal Village, Ocal Parish, Abarilela Sub-County in Amuria District,” reads part of the police report.
According to Obukulem, the report was filed at Amuria CPS under CRB: 216/2024 by LC1 Chairman Nathan Okiring.
