Six countries have been eliminated from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco as the tournament moved into its first decisive phase, and Nigeria now stands one win away from sending Uganda home, uncoveredug.com reports.
However, Comoros, Zambia, and Zimbabwe became the latest teams to bow out, joining Botswana, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea, who had already seen their AFCON journeys cut short after failing to collect points in earlier rounds.
Zimbabwe is now the latest team to exit the tournament following the conclusion of the final Group B fixtures played on Monday yesterday.

Hosts Morocco boosted their credentials as title contenders with a commanding 3-0 victory over Zambia in Group A, sealing the top spot with seven points. Mali followed them into the knockout phase despite being held to a goalless draw by Comoros.
Uncovered Ug had earlier reported that Botswana, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon were eliminated after the conclusion of the second round of group-stage fixtures.
In conclusion, Zimbabwe has joined Botswana, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Zambia, who were thrashed 3-0 by Morocco in a Group A tie, in exiting the tournament.
