Aero Beach founder Kodet Lorika has died at the age of 84. His passing marks the end of an era for the iconic Entebbe attraction known for its vibrant tourism history
According to credible sources, the tycoon who passed on yesterday, Sunday, 7th December, 2025, had undergone treatment in several hospitals, including domestic and international hospitals.
The tycoon has been residing in the Nsamizi zone near the Entebbe State House. Last night a vigil was held at his residence, and several mourners gathered at his residence to mourn him.

A tentative burial program will be released today pending a final decision from family members. The deceased is survived by seven children plus several grandchildren.
At the time of his death, he was demanding the government compensate him Shs 9 billion for the loss of his cattle and farm in the Masindi district, which he lost during the 1979/1980 liberation war.
On January 29th 2015 and January, 11, 2018, the President wrote a letter to the ministry of Justice and constitutional affairs to verify his claim which was done but till his death he had never got any positive response from the relevant authorities.
Prior to his death, the departed tycoon told journalists that his farm in Kiryandongo district, former Masindi district was looted by liberators in 1979/80 and all the cows were taken by soldiers to feed the Tanzanian army in Gulu as they advanced to the North and West Nile region during the struggle to topple the late Idi Amin’s government.
He also claimed that during the insurgency in the Karamoja region between 1980 and the 90s, he lost property on his farm in Namalu village, Nakapiripiriti district, to cattle raiders worth Shs13.5 billion, but unfortunately, a compensation committee failed to visit his farm to verify, evaluate, or determine the size and scope of the farm.
Meanwhile, the departed tycoon had been one of the most famous entrepreneurs in Uganda and owned several investments in all parts of Uganda. Among his investments are Katuruum lodges in Kidepo, Mt. Moroto hotel, and Namalu stock farm.
