The Saudi Arabian Investment Fund (PIF) has made a bold move to lure Vinicius Junior to Al-Ahli with a staggering offer that would see the Brazilian star earn over 1 billion euros across five seasons.
Despite the eye-watering figures, including a yearly salary of 382.5 million dollars (about 348 million euros), the Real Madrid winger has reportedly turned down the proposal.
This interest from Saudi Arabia underscores the nation’s ambition to build a football league brimming with global stars as they gear up for the 2034 World Cup, which they are set to host. Landing a player of Vinicius’ caliber would undoubtedly boost the league’s profile and serve as a statement of intent on the world stage.

However, Vinicius, who recently renewed his contract with Real Madrid until June 2027, seems intent on staying with the Spanish giants.
Real Madrid’s response to the approach has been unequivocal. The club made it clear that they have no intention of negotiating Vinicius’ departure, pointing to his hefty 1 billion euro release clause, designed precisely to ward off such overtures. This steadfast stance by Los Blancos highlights Vinicius’ importance to their long-term plans, with the player seen as a key figure in the club’s future.
While the PIF’s ambition remains strong, prying Vinicius away from Madrid appears to be a near-impossible task, at least for now. The focus may now shift to other potential targets as Saudi Arabia continues its quest to assemble a star-studded league.
