The Ugandan entertainment industry is in mourning following the death of celebrated filmmaker, actress, dancer, and visual artist Esteri Tebandeke.
Reports indicate that Tebandeke had been battling kidney-related complications for several years. In 2022, she underwent a kidney transplant, with her husband, Samuel Lutaaya Tebandeke, generously donating the organ in a bid to save her life.
Despite the procedure, her body later developed complications and reportedly rejected the transplanted kidney, leading to a decline in her health over time.
In recent weeks, she was admitted to Nakasero Hospital, where she received specialized medical care. Sadly, she passed away, leaving behind a wave of grief among her loved ones, colleagues, and fans.
