Donald Trump has declined the possibility of another presidential debate with his rival Kamala Harris before the upcoming election. Trump asserted that Harris’s request for a rematch stemmed from his clear victory in their first showdown.
Instant polls following the debate indicated that voters perceived Harris to have outperformed her Republican opponent. Trump suggested that Harris redirect her focus towards her responsibilities as vice president.
Shortly after Trump’s announcement, Kamala Harris responded at a campaign rally in North Carolina, emphasising the importance of another debate for the voters.

With just two months remaining until the election, polls indicate a close race between the two candidates. Following the initial debate, where Harris launched personal attacks at Trump, both candidates claimed victory.
Trump criticised the debate moderators for bias in favour of Harris, while Harris’s campaign continued to push for a second debate.
Despite calls for a rematch, Trump remained resolute in his decision to forgo another debate with Harris. In a social media post, Trump asserted his victory in the first debate and expressed a lack of necessity for a second encounter.
While some of his campaign surrogates hinted at the possibility of another debate, Trump later expressed scepticism due to his perception of the initial debate as rigged. This decision seemed to contradict earlier statements from his campaign regarding multiple debates.
