Ugandan long-distance runner Joshua Cheptegei is celebrating a significant milestone in his quest to build a premier training center in Kapchorwa.

The world-renowned athlete has received a substantial boost from Tororo Cement, one of Uganda’s leading cement manufacturers.

The company has generously contributed UGX 100 million to support Cheptegei’s vision of creating a world-class facility for future athletes.

This donation comes in recognition of Cheptegei’s remarkable achievement at the recent Paris Olympics, where he secured the gold medal in the 10,000-meter race.

The training center, currently nearing 80% completion, stands as a testament to Cheptegei’s dedication to nurturing the next generation of Ugandan runners.

The recent financial support from Tororo Cement is expected to expedite the project’s completion, paving the way for a new era of athletic excellence in the region.

Cheptegei expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the donation, emphasizing how the facility is already inspiring hundreds of young athletes who visit daily to train and chase their dreams of representing Uganda on the global stage.

According to Executive Director B.M. Gagrani, the company is committed to initiatives that contribute to building strong communities and fostering young talent.
