Janet Museveni, through the Ministry of Education and Sports as well as UNEB, will release the 2024 Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025.
However, this directive comes out following the board’s presentation of the results to the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni, on Tuesday.
UNEB posted on X “PLE 2024 results will be officially released on Thursday, 23rd January 2025, at 11:00 AM at State House, Nakasero. Presided over by the First Lady and Minister of @Educ_SportsUg, the event will be live-streamed on our platforms. Stay tuned for updates!”.

Furthermore, it was confirmed that a total of 798,763 candidates sat for the 2024 PLE examinations, out of which 419,357 were females and 379,414 were males. Additionally, 3,295 candidates are Special Needs Education Candidates, with 1,677 (50.0%) females and 1,618 (49.1%) males.
This is the first batch of the 2024 national final exam results to be released, with Uneb slated to release the results for students who sat the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) in weeks to follow.
According to the school calendar released last year, the placement for PLE candidates will take place on January 27 and 28, while UCE candidates will have their placement conducted on February 6 and 7.
In conclusion, 2024 P7 candidates will report for Senior One studies on February 10, 2025, while the UCE students will join Senior Five on February 24, 2025.
