Police in Nateete, working with the UPDF, have arrested a panga-wielding gangster following a violent robbery on Busega Road. The victim, 30-year-old Emmanuel Kafeero, a resident of Masanda Zone in Kyengera Town Council, was ambushed by two men armed with a panga, four knives, and a metallic rod.
However, the attackers dragged him into a nearby swamp, where they tortured him and robbed him of his phone, Shs20,000 in cash, and packets of yoghurt worth Shs700,000. He was held hostage until the suspects fled.Kafeero reported the incident to Busega Police Station, prompting a swift operation by police and UPDF officers.
The operation led to the arrest of 19-year-old boda boda rider Henry Kizito, who is now detained at Nateete Police Station. His accomplice managed to escape and remains the target of an ongoing manhunt.

Furthermore, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson SP Patrick Onyango confirmed that one suspect was injured during the operation and is receiving treatment under police guard at Mulago Hospital.
Police recovered key evidence from the scene, including a panga, four knives, and a metallic rod believed to have been used in the crime.
A case of aggravated robbery has been registered, and investigators have taken statements from the victim, witnesses, and the arrested suspect.
In conclusion, authorities have called on the public to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of the second suspect.
