Legendary Ugandan singer Joseph Mayanja, popularly known as Jose Chameleone, recently opened up about the possibility of a musical showdown with his longtime friend and fellow artist, Bebe Cool.
When asked about the prospect of a battle, Chameleone remained non-committal, stating that the future is unpredictable. “I can’t say whether the battle will happen or not,” he said, leaving fans speculating about what might be in store.
Chameleone and Bebe Cool share a history that spans decades. Their friendship is well-known in the Ugandan music industry, marked by a healthy rivalry that has kept them both at the top of their game.

Despite their competitive nature, Chameleone expressed doubts about the necessity of a battle at this point in their careers. He emphasized that both artists are thriving and setting examples for the next generation of musicians.
Interestingly, Bebe Cool is no stranger to musical battles. Years ago, he faced off against Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, now better known as Bobi Wine, who has since transitioned into a prominent political figure.
This experience adds a layer of intrigue to the idea of a Chameleone-Bebe Cool battle, as fans wonder if history might repeat itself.
For now, Chameleone seems content with the status quo. “We are all doing so well,” he noted, hinting that there’s more to their journey than just rivalry. However, he left the door open, adding, “Maybe the battle will happen at some point.”
