Prime suspect Tabula Lujja has told the court he doesn’t regret orchestrating the killing of Ndiga clan head, Eng Daniel Bbosa Kakeedo.
Bbosa was gunned down near his home in Lungujja, a Kampala suburb, on February 24, 2024, by assailants riding a motorcycle.
Lujja, who had been on the run for about six months, was apprehended last week by the crime intelligence department (CID) officers from Kimelika-Namulonge, Busikuma.

On Monday, Lujja appeared before Mwanga II Magistrate’s court, presided over by principal grade one magistrate Adams Byarugaba, where he was formally charged with Bbosa’s murder.
The court heard that on February 25, 2024, in Kikandwa, Lubaga Division, Lujja, with premeditated intent, caused the death of Bbosa. Lujja was brought to court under heavy security and spent about 40 minutes on the court premises before being taken to the holding cells.
As he was led away, Lujja, appearing unremorseful, uttered Luganda proverbs implying that “an eye for an eye is fair justice.”
He went on to express no regret for hiring the two killers, Serunkuma and Noah Lujja, who he claimed carried out the murder. Lujja admitted to orchestrating the crime, stating that it was done to secure his ancestors’ rightful claim to the Lwomwa seat. He asserted that, even if he were to spend the rest of his life in prison or die there, he would have ensured his lineage’s claim to the seat.
Magistrate Byarugaba informed Lujja that the court lacked jurisdiction over capital offenses and ordered that Lujja be remanded until October 3.
