The Chief of Defence Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, hosted a meeting this afternoon with Gen. Mohamed Ashraf from Egypt’s General Intelligence Service at the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe.
During their discussion, Gen. Kainerugaba lauded the strong ties between Uganda and Egypt, underscoring their mutual dedication to regional peace and progress.
As the Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations, the CDF stressed the necessity of sustained collaboration to tackle shared regional challenges.

Furthermore, in recent months, Uganda and Egypt have achieved notable progress, especially in the fields of vaccination and health management. Between May and December, Uganda received 10 million doses of vaccines for foot-and-mouth disease from Egypt, along with tools to facilitate domestic vaccine manufacturing.
Gen. Ashraf personally delivered Hepatitis C medication sufficient to treat 500 patients. Additionally, Maj. Gen. BD Mugisha, Commander of the Special Forces Command, was also present at the meeting.
In conclusion, Gen. Kainerugaba applauded the leadership of both President Yoweri Museveni and President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi for their foresight and efforts in enhancing the partnership between Uganda and Egypt.
