Talented singer Azawi, signed under Swangz Avenue, isn’t holding back when it comes to expressing her views about the government and Parliament of Uganda.
Known for her boldness, she has openly criticized the behavior and actions of the country’s lawmakers, stating that many people no longer take them seriously. In her view, Parliament has become a source of mockery rather than a pillar of governance.
Azawi’s sharp observations are not just about making noise; she pointed out that if Parliament were to organize an event aimed at entertaining the public, they would likely succeed—because they have already become a “laughing stock.”

Her words resonate with many Ugandans who are frustrated with the current state of affairs and the perceived lack of accountability from their leaders.
Despite facing backlash and being labeled a clout chaser, Azawi has not wavered in her stance. She continues to use her platform to highlight the issues that affect everyday citizens, especially the growing corruption and how it disproportionately impacts the public while politicians thrive. Her persistence in speaking out, even after being criticized and having to delete a post, demonstrates her commitment to bringing these issues to light.
Azawi emphasizes that her activism isn’t about politics, but rather about social responsibility. She believes it’s essential for public figures like herself to voice concerns about the well-being of their fellow citizens. “It’s not about being a politician, it’s about standing up for what’s right,” she said, reiterating her dedication to using her voice for positive change.
