Twitter workers set to exit due to new terms
The CEO of Twitter, Mr. Elon Musk called a large number of staff members to sign up for long hours at a high intensity and this forced majority of the staff members to quit.
Twitter told its workers that the company’s offices will be temporarily closed with immediate effect. In a message seen by uncovered ug, workers were told that the offices will be open on Monday 21st November.
The message went on to say: “Please continue to comply with the company’s policy by refraining from discussing confidential company information on social media, with the press or elsewhere”. Manager of the team terminate his contract on the first day and this left many workers to get worried because they could not wait to be replaced by agency workers
We interacted with some of the workers, one of them told us, “He had already resigned although they had prepared them to work for long hours”. I didn’t want to work for someone who threatened us over multiple email times and I was working for 60-65 hours in a week
One former Twitter employee, who wished to remain obedient, told uncovered ug “I think when the dust clears today, there’s probably going to be less than 1,500 people left.” because they claimed that every one was sacked from the team.
“We are urgently seeking a meeting with Twitter UK Ltd to discuss how it will manage its consultation, ensure a fair and transparent process, and meet its duty of care and legal obligations to employees, including those with particular needs. There are signs that large numbers of workers have resigned because they have not accepted Mr Musk’s new terms of work like working for long hours.
